Breakfast- Low-Carb Ground Almond Slices

– 500 grams of ground almond flour

– One teaspoon of sea salt

– One teaspoon of baking soda

– One and a half cups of non-dairy butter

– Four free range eggs or just ordinary eggs

The preparation and baking of the almond slices is extremely easy.

First you need to warm up the oven to Gas mark 2 or 150°C. You will need a non-stick baking sheet or in case you haven’t got one, you can grease an ordinary baking sheet. Start by mixing all the dry ingredients together – almond flour, baking soda and salt. Then mix all the wet ingredients with an electric mixer – the dairy-free spread and the eggs.

Once you are ready you need to add the dry mixture to the wet one. Remember to stir with a wooden spoon until a sticky mixture (dough like) is formed. Then you need to take a small amount of the mixture and roll it into a ball and then flatten it between your hands. Using this technique make 16 more slices. Place the slices on the non-stick baking paper.

You should bake them for about one hour or until the slices turn golden brown. Remember that if you want soft slices, you need to bake them less. Do not increase the oven temperature. Leave it on Gas mark 2. After baking, leave the slices to cool and then you can store them in the fridge.
