Homemade Olive Tapenade


If you are a true olive – lover, this light cream will be your favorite. It is easier if you buy this cream at the market but the pleasure is much greater if you do it yourself, this delicious recipe takes only 10 minutes to make. I should mention that the taste depends mostly on the quality of the olives you are using. Choose olives that will satisfy your taste.



● 5.3 oz/ 150 g of olives without seeds

● 1 oz/ 30 ml olive oil

● 2 cloves of garlic

● 2 tablespoons whole wheat bread crumbs

● 2 teaspoons capers

● 1 teaspoon mustard

● a little basil ( fresh or dried )

● a little pepper

● lemon juice.



Put the olives in a blender and mix them well. Then add all the other ingredients and spices and continue blending until all ingredients are smooth and well mixed. Just taste the paste (tapenade) and then decide about the lemon juice. It can be served with baked slices of whole wheat bread, or with fresh vegetables and can be used as an additive to some meals.
